Best West Virginia University Quarterbacks

WVU is home to some of the biggest names and faces in sports.  From campus stars to football stars, WVU never ceases to amaze us with the talent they produce in each draft class.  

As a former Morgantown resident, and WVU student, I can take pride in being on campus during the times of the great Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Kevin White, every student has the opportunity to name the greats they were on campus with.

During the Rich Rodriguez era, WVU solidified its spot as one of the greatest college football programs of all time.

Though I wasn’t on campus during an infamous QB from WVU, here’s a list of some of the greatest quarterbacks to touch the WVU campus…

Pat White

Pat White, is one of the most electric college quarterbacks of all time.  Having held the QB rushing record for 4 years, White led the mountaineers to a four year dynasty for morgantown to deal with.  The Pat White Era was definitely different in Morgantown.

Geno Smith

Geno Smith was the WVU era quarterback from 2009 -2012 during the Kevin White and Tavon Austin Era.  Morgantown was an empowering place during that time, having the brunt of the mountaineer fan base at its peak.  It sure was a special time in this era!  The BIg 12 Era.

Major Harris

Major Harris was the Quarterback in Morgantown during the times of my parents.  In the years od 1985 until 1989, Harris led the mountaineers to He passed for over 5,000 yards, and was eventually drafted by the Raiders in Los Angeles

Marc Bulger

Marc Bulger was the WVU Quarterback from 1996 - 2000.  Passing over 8,000 yards Bulger went on to be the backup for one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Kurt Warner.  Bulger gives back to the school by opening up his own scholarship in town.

Jeff Hostetler

Jeff Hostetler, was the WVU quarterback from 1983 from 1987, and was the center focus for the campus at the time.  WVU’s mojo surrounds around it’s football team, let alone its quarterback. He left the school with a 18-6 record.
